Joan sez: "It's going to be a busy two months now, with the growing and harvesting for the markets, so we'll try to keep everyone up to date in the midst of all the work. We do have blueberries and peas now!"

On Saturdays, you'll find us behind ONION CREEK CAFE at 3106 White Oak Drive between Heights Blvd and Studemont, in the Heights. We're there from 8 AM til noon or til sold out - whichever comes first!! Come early for the best pickings!

On Tuesdays, visit us in the parking lot of CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH, in Rice Village, 2353 Rice Blvd at Greenbriar. Tuesday hours are 4 PM til 7 PM, every week!

"We currently have a booth at the Saturday Farmers Market to accept donations for St. Jude and Shriners Children's Hospitals, and next Tuesday we expect to set up at the Market in the Rice Village.

Bombs and Poison Gas = Corn and Soybeans

Just an interesting historical fact for today's newsletter. Make of it what you will.

Following the surrenders of the Axis Powers ending WWII, the western world found itself with a great surplus of materials used to make bombs and poison gases. What did we do with it? We turned ammonium nitrate from bomb-making to nitrogen fertilizer, our poison gases into agricultural pesticides.

Hmmm...
