Real Food, Naturally: For a Healthy New Year
Want to be healthier, happier, and more energetic this year? It's not hard. Here is the Houston Farmer's Market recipe.
1) Eat locally grown organic produce and chemical-free, grass-fed meats or wild seafood every day, and the natural, unpreserved foods prepared by our artisan chefs.
2) Include at least 2 vegetables and a small fruit each night, mixing your colors: green lettuce, red tomatoes, pink sweet potatoes, sliced pear, black-eyed peas...
3) Drink 6 glasses of water and a small glass of red wine daily.
4) Turn off the TV and enjoy good food while you feast on the day's events with your family at the dining table.
5) Walk after your dinner meal.
6) Sleep like a baby.
That's our simple recipe for good health and fine living. Buy it at the Houston Farmers Market every Tuesday night in the Village and Saturday morning at Onion Creek.
